Microphone failure

Sorry, long winded, but I wanted to be detailed.
I am having issues where I can hear and see the client, but they can see me and not hear me.
Background:
When I log into Doxy, I get an orange banner saying ’ Hmm, we don’t hear anything from your microphone. Click here for suggestions to get it working.
All the suggestions in the troubleshooting page do not work as I have allowed both camera and microphone but only the camera is detected.
I have even purchased an external webcam with a microphone, and still the microphone is not detected.
The pretest call also fails to detect sound when testing the microphone.
This issue occurs with both chrome and firefox.
I have restarted and refreshed and no resolution. Help>

I recently had a couple of users run into this.
My suggestion, which fixed this for them, is to confirm that you have the right recording device selected for the microphone from within Doxy.ME.

Steps:

  1. From your Doxy.ME dashboard, select the three dot ellipsis visible in the upper left corner of the camera preview window when hovering over it with your mouse, and then select Device settings

  2. Under microphone, use the dropdown to select the corresponding device.
