See what quality you can expect from a call with your patient

We recently added a bandwidth indicator to the Patient Queue. This feature can be a quick way to get an idea of the quality you can expect from a patient after starting a call with them. To access this, click the three stacked dots next to their name in the queue.

As always, we’ll be improving this over the coming weeks, but if try it out and let us know how it goes!

This is lovely. Would it be possible to provide information on both upload and download speed in mbps for the patient in the cue as well as the provider somewhere on the home screen? This makes troubleshooting much simpler.

Yes, I see what you mean. Thank you for the feedback. I’ll take this back to the team and see what we can come up with to improve the design. We’re trying to balance an overload of messages when they aren’t needed. For example, if we detect “Poor” or “Unstable” internet from you, we will show it like this:

Unfortunately, the best predictor of call quality isn’t always as clear as upload/download speed. We are finding that packet loss plays an important role, and we account for that in our score from above.

There are a few more data points we are starting to track as well, and we hope to give better scores, and then eventually better interventions to improve quality overall.
